Kauai Open Government

ALOHA!

Welcome to my website. Here you will learn more about me and what I can do for our County.

The Itokazu/Takaesu side of our family has lived on Kauai for three generations. My father, Delano, was a biology teacher at Kapaa High for 29 years and my mother, Marcia, was a social worker. My brother, David, works as a Environmental Health Specialist with the Hawaii Department of Health.

I am deeply committed to our Kauai community. Our family has a long history of public service; it has been a joy to continue that tradition as a librarian at the Kapaa Public Library. I have seen first-hand the challenges we face on Kauai at this time. I work with thousands of individuals from all walks of life who come into the library for information and help with issues we face daily.

Our island home is unique.  Working together, we can improve the quality of life on Kauai for future generations.  Introducing smart-growth legislation, providing more affordable housing opportunities and working to protect and expand public access to beaches and trails are important steps toward improving the quality of life of our residents.

As your councilwoman, I will listen to community concerns, gather and assess accurate information, then work with my fellow council members to make the best decisions for our community.

Mostly, I offer a fresh voice, a voice for balance, and a woman's voice for the people of Kauai.

Aloha and Mahalo,
